"Hulson’s ‘grey ones’, that featured throughout Luxury Complex, were a direct response to a nightmare where a terrifying entity called ‘Jimmy’ (experienced pre-Savile) had an appetite for human flesh and relentless violence. Jimmy was a grey muppet demon, with no teeth and holes for eyes. He became a series of characters that corresponded to malevolent forces in the hypothetical novel by E.L. Palmer."
