Lisa Cradduck, 2017

'Luxury Complex: Remembering Satan’ (2015) was an exhibition as serialised novella, degenerating over four consecutive weekends. Its meta-narratives were stimulated by parody, pareidolia, hypnotic regression and mimetic contagion.

For 2017's 'Luxury Complex: Resurrection', the Complex made another work as post mortem and raising of the first. Feeding lines to each other as if umbillicaly, or muscling shit through a kinked intestinal tract, the group sought occult reclamation of disputed territory. 'It's a Trap!' is a souvenir of a sight you didn't see and a chunk of exquisite corpse.

The image is that of a golem made of rubble and surgical implements from a gentrified children's hospital, animated by domestic mould and class resentment, hiding behind a retained facade. Each print was left to fester, and is a tomb to dead mould.

Photo-etch, 140 x 190 mm (A5)Somerset 300gsm paper, variable edition of 50.

Prints come mounted ready to frame.
